In 2007, after 9/11, "Mrs. Bush invited the fifty state governors to designate local artisans to handcraft ornaments representing a special historic home or other type of structure in their region, using primarily shades of white." Paul Bond Boots was selected and chose to craft a small pair of boots, ornament sized, tooled with the façade of Mission Jose de Tumacacori.
